Inside the Impactful Community: What happens when you gather women who care about doing work that matters
When I was invited to speak at The Impact Showcase last week, I was asked a simple question: “What impact have you had this year?” I knew immediately what I wanted to talk about. Not a project. Not a metric. A community.
Last December I decided to build the room I could not find. A place where bold, brilliant, values-driven women could come together without needing to perform or pretend. A place where your worth was not defined by your turnover or your audience size, but by the difference you make.
So I opened a Zoom room in January. I had no plan beyond creating a space where women could arrive exactly as they are. I did not expect dozens to join me. I did not expect it to grow. I certainly did not expect it to become an award-winning community.
What surprised me most was this: the IC was never meant to be about me, yet it has changed me as much as it has supported its members. When you create something you love, the impact flows both ways.
Inside the IC, we meet twice a month. Our discussion sessions explore the questions that sit underneath our work. The questions we rarely make space for. Women share their reflections in the safety of a group that understands what it means to build a business with heart.
Our second monthly session is a chance to ask for help. To explore how impact can be used as a tool for clarity, for decision-making and for communicating the true value of what you do. These sessions were designed for members but recently one of them asked, “How can we help you?” It was a moment that reminded me what happens when you build a space rooted in trust.
Perhaps the best way to understand the IC is to hear the words of the women themselves. This year they joined me in a short film. They spoke about inspiration, generosity, collaboration, deep conversations with people they had never met before, and the freedom to talk about business impact without needing to talk about revenue.
They spoke about feeling welcome. Feeling lifted. Feeling seen.

This is the impact I am most proud of. A space where women gather not because they want to look successful, but because they want to create something meaningful.
If you have ever wondered what it feels like inside the Impactful Community, you are welcome to come and find out. The door is always open.
